About Reiki (霊気,)
What is Reiki
Reiki is a non invasive practice and can be described as a universal energy healing system. It is usually channelled through a practitioner's hands, activating and fastening the natural healing processes of the patient’s body.

Treatment
A Reiki Treatment is a very unique experience and it varies from person to person and from session to session. Receiving a treatment is normally a deeply relaxing experience, which balances and brings harmony to the body and mind. Sometimes patients experience the release of suppressed emotions whilst others experience nothing at all. All reactions are valid and are part of the healing process, which is different for each person.
Method
Reiki can be transmitted through touch or with the hands of the practitioner slightly above the patient's body but it is always performed fully clothed. There is little or no pressure making it ideal for clients of any age, including pregnant women and those recovering from surgery.
Brief History
Reiki was founded in Japan by Mikao Usui in the early 1900's. This system was then brought to the west in 1936 by Mrs Hawayo Takata, which originated two different lineages in which I am trained:
-Usui Shiki Ryoho ( Western Lineage)
-Usui Reiki Ryoho (Eastern Lineage)
Reiki and Orthodox Medicine
Reiki can compliment orthodox medicine but never replace it. Infact Reiki is widely used by NHS alongside clinical treatment. It can be used on its own however if you have concerns about your health, it is important to consult a doctor. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose.
